David Holt, spokesperson for the Consumer Energy Alliance, asked the question: why does the term environmentalist applies only to those who are opposed to the oil and gas industry?  His answer was that everyone is an environmentalist at heart.  “No one wants to destroy the environment,” he said.

When it comes to hydraulic fracturing and public fears over environmental concerns, it’s the oil and gas industry itself that needs to move the conversation in another direction.  At least, that’s how a panel of public relations experts sees it.  The panel delivered the message at the Petroleum Connection’s Clean Fracking Conference in Houston.
